31. Tamil Puthalvan Scheme

Launch Date:

• August 2024.

Aim:

• To support and enhance the education of government school students by providing financial assistance for purchasing educational materials.

Beneficiaries:

• Students from government schools in classes 6 to 12 who are pursuing higher education.

Eligibility:

• Students must be enrolled in government schools.
• Applicable for students in classes 6 to 12.

Additional Information:

• Each eligible student will receive a direct monthly transfer of 1,000 rupees into their bank accounts.
• The funds can be used to purchase textbooks, general knowledge books, and magazines.
• The scheme aims to empower youth by providing them with resources to enhance their education, helping them become the future pillars of the state and nation.

32.Thozhi Working Women's Hostel

Launch Date:

• January 4, 2024.

Aim:

• To provide safe and affordable accommodation for women working in various locations.

Beneficiaries:

• Working women traveling to different districts and states for work, training, or official visits.

Eligibility:

• Women who are employed and require accommodation in different districts for work-related purposes.

Additional Information:

• These hostels are named "Thozhi" and are designed to offer safe and affordable lodging.
• Rooms can be booked on a daily or monthly basis.

Locations:

• Hostels have been established in 9 districts across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Chengalpattu, Perambalur, Salem, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Vellore, and Villupuram, totalling 11 hostels.

Facilities:

• Dining room, lounge, creche, Wi-Fi, air conditioners, lift, washing machine, ironing board, iron box, storage room with a refrigerator, microwave, RO water with water cooler.
• There is 24-hour surveillance with CCTV cameras for security.
• Accommodation is not provided for families/relatives of the working women.

33.Innuyir Kaappom: The 48-Hour Life-Saving Scheme

Launch Date:

• December 18, 2021.

Ministry/Nodal Agency:

• Commissionerate of transport and road safety.

Aim:

• To reduce road accidents and fatalities by providing immediate medical treatment to road accident victims.

Beneficiaries:

• All road accident victims within Tamil Nadu, regardless of their residency status or income level.

Eligibility:

• Any individual injured in a road accident within Tamil Nadu.

Additional Information:

• The Tamil Nadu government has launched the "Innuyir Kaappom - The 48-Hour Life-Saving Scheme" to provide emergency medical treatment for the first 48 hours to road accident victims at the government's expense.
• This scheme includes 609 accredited hospitals, comprising 201 government hospitals and 408 private hospitals, to ensure timely and appropriate medical care.
• The first 48 hours after a road accident are crucial for the victims.
• This scheme ensures free medical treatment during this period for all individuals, including those with or without the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance card, residents of other states, and foreigners.
• The scheme covers 81 selected treatment packages with a ceiling limit of up to Rs. 1 lakh per person.
• Treatment for the first 48 hours will be provided at the hospital where the victim is admitted. If the victim remains unstable or requires continued treatment beyond 48 hours, the following guidelines apply:
• If the victim is a beneficiary of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, treatment will continue at the same hospital if the treatment is covered under the insurance scheme.
• If the victim is not a beneficiary of the insurance scheme or the treatment is not covered, the patient will be stabilized and transferred to a government hospital for continued free treatment.
• If the victim is unwilling to go to a government hospital or prefers to continue treatment at a private hospital or another hospital of their choice, they can continue the treatment at their own expense.
• Details of the accredited government and private hospitals under the Inniyir Kaappom - The 48-Hour Life-Saving Scheme are listed district-wise and made available on websites for public access (https://cmchistn.com).

34.Healthcare at Your Doorstep

Launch Date:

• August 5, 2021.

Ministry/Nodal Agency:

• Tamil Nadu Government.

Aim:

• To provide essential healthcare services directly to people's homes.

Beneficiaries:

• Residents of Tamil Nadu, especially those above 45 years with chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes.

Eligibility:

• Any resident of Tamil Nadu requiring healthcare services, with a focus on those with chronic illnesses.

Additional Information:

• Launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, the "Healthcare at Your Doorstep" initiative aims to deliver medical services to the residents' homes.
• Special volunteers are appointed for this task, each receiving a salary of Rs. 4500, and they work tirelessly in the field.
• For over two years, these healthcare workers have been visiting 10 houses daily, meeting around 20 people, documenting their health issues, and providing necessary medicines and treatments.
• The services include delivering medicines to homes for those above 45 years suffering from hypertension and diabetes, providing disease support and traditional therapy services, distributing self-dialysis bags for kidney patients, and recommending essential medical services.
• The initiative involves female health volunteers, disease support nurses, traditional therapy doctors, and mid-level healthcare providers.
• Initially, it was launched in 50 zones covering 1,172 government sub-health centers, 189 primary health centers, 50 upgraded health centers, and 21 urban primary health centers in the metropolitan areas of Chennai, Coimbatore, and Tirunelveli.

35.Kanavu Illam

Launch Date:

• February 19, 2024.

Ministry/Nodal Agency:

• Tamil Nadu Government.

Aim:

• To provide permanent housing for all those without homes, aiming to create a slum-free Tamil Nadu by 2030.

Beneficiaries:

• Homeless individuals in rural areas of Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be permanent residents of Tamil Nadu and live in rural areas of the state.

Additional Information:

• Originally introduced by the late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi in 1975, this scheme has been revamped and reintroduced in 2010 as the "Kalaignar's Housing Scheme" to achieve a slum-free state.

Benefits:

• The Tamil Nadu budget has allocated funds for constructing eight lakh concrete houses.

36.Pudhumai Penn Scheme Details

• To provide a monthly stipend of ₹1,000 to female students enrolled in state-run government schools (classes V to XII) until they complete their diploma or undergraduate studies.
• Aimed at giving economically disadvantaged female students access to high-quality postsecondary education.

• Girl students of government schools in Tamil Nadu.

37."Perasiriyar Anbazhagan School Improvement Scheme"

Aim:

• To construct 26,000 new classrooms under the Perasiriyar Anbazhagan School Improvement Scheme.

Beneficiary:

• Primary and middle school students across Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility:

• Students attending government primary and middle schools in Tamil Nadu.

Additional Information:

• The scheme aims to address the infrastructure needs of government schools by constructing new classrooms.
• Initially, 5,351 classrooms will be built at a cost of ₹784 crore, focusing on 196 assembly constituencies and 36 districts in Tamil Nadu.
