38. Ennum Ezhuthum Scheme

  • The school education department is implementing this scheme for three years to address the learning loss caused by school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the scheme at the Alinjivakkam, Panchayat Union Middle School in Tiruvallur district.

  • To serve as a two-way communication platform for the public to submit and resolve their grievances easily.
  • Ensure citizens across the state can access government services, schemes, and assistance without any barriers.

Eligibility:

  • Any resident of Tamil Nadu can use the platform to submit complaints and feedback.

  • The system resolves grievances swiftly, fairly, and compassionately, ensuring no dissatisfaction among citizens.
  • All departments are instructed to act promptly and efficiently on public grievances.

The Tamil Nadu government strives to achieve seven key policies of a responsible administration:

  • Accessibility, participation, communication, accountability, efficiency, and responsibility.
  • The integrated and inclusive grievance management system allows citizens to:
  • Register grievances at any time from any location.
  • Track the status of their grievances.
  • Raise questions.
  • Provide suggestions for system improvement.
  • View public statements from the Chief Minister.
  • To maximize the usage of this service, various methods have been developed, including a toll-free phone number (1100), online services, mobile app, email, and postal service.
  • All complaints registered through these services are sent to the relevant government offices via the call center and are monitored continuously.
  • The system is designed to work collaboratively and take swift action to address public grievances.

40. 'Samadhan' Scheme for Traders

Ministry / Nodal Agency:

  • Tamil Nadu Commercial Tax Department.

Aim:

  • To provide traders and companies with a new approach and additional benefits to settle their pending commercial taxes.
  • To reduce the workload of the Commercial Tax Department and increase revenue collection for the government.

Beneficiary:

  • Traders and companies in Tamil Nadu with pending commercial taxes.

Eligibility:

  • Traders and companies with pending tax, interest, and penalty amounts.

Additional Information:

  • Pending Cases and Amounts:
  • There are 2.11 lakh pending cases related to tax dues payable by around 1.42 lakh traders and companies, with an estimated pending amount of Rs. 25,000 crores.
  • Scheme Provisions:
  • If the pending tax, interest, and penalty amount is less than Rs. 50,000, it will be completely waived off.
  • For other traders, the scheme allows settling cases by paying a specified percentage of the pending amount.
  • This scheme includes traders with pending amounts ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 10 lakhs, Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 1 crore, Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 10 crores, and above Rs. 10 crores, categorized into four groups.
  • Details for Each Category:
  • Traders in the first category can settle their cases by paying 20% of the total pending amount or a specified percentage of the pending tax, interest, and penalty.
  • Traders in the other three categories can settle their cases by paying a specified percentage of the pending tax, interest, and penalty.
  • Accrued Interest Waiver:
  • As a significant concession, the accrued interest amount in their accounts until the date they come forward to pay the pending amount will be completely waived off.
  • Duration:
  • This 'Samadhan' scheme will come into effect from October 16th and will be in effect for four months, until February 15, 2024.
  • Traders are encouraged to take advantage of this government initiative.

41. Nadappom nalam peruvom scheme

Aim:

  • Promote healthy living through regular walking.

Beneficiary:

  • General public of Namakkal district.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all residents of Namakkal district.

  • Tree plantation, drinking water facilities, sanitation, seating for walkers, and distance milestones.
  • Activities:
  • Medical camps at the end of the walk for health awareness.
  • Participants:
  • Elected representatives, district officers, health workers, and local residents.

  • Monthly walks with additional walking opportunities on all days of the week.

  • Encourage public to adopt walking as a regular habit.

  • Open to all residents of Chennai.

  • Monthly Event:
  • Medical check-up camp for blood pressure and diabetes on the first Sunday of each month in collaboration with Chennai Corporation.
  • Health Benefits:
  • Reduces stress, lowers risk of diabetes and high blood pressure by up to 30% according to WHO recommendations.
  • These programs aim to improve public health through regular walking, providing infrastructure and medical support to encourage participation and health awareness among residents.

42. Home Based Education Program

Launch Date:

  • October 27, 2021

  • Tamil Nadu government.

Aim:

  • Assist students unable to study due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Encourage enrollment of 1 lakh students in government schools.
  • Improve the standard of education in Tamil Nadu.
  • Promote women empowerment in education.

Beneficiaries:

  • Students enrolled in government schools in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility:

  • Native students of Tamil Nadu.
  • Submission of class and academic certificates.
  • Submission of identification (e.g., Aadhaar Card, Voter ID).
  • Annual family income certificate required.

  • Volunteers appointed as goodwill ambassadors.
  • Collaboration with Tamil Nadu's Economic Advisory Committee and UNESCO educationists.
