  • A 12th-century Chola-era stone pillar with inscription was recently discovered Palur, Cuddalore.
  • It etched in the year 1125 AD and denotes the land donation to the shiva temple by people of the village.
  • It pertains to the 5th year of the reign of vikrama chola.
  • As per the inscription, these donated lands were measured using a chola measurement system known as Pathinalu adikol.
