77th Indian Army Day - January 15

On this day in 1949, Field Marshal Cariappa took over the command of the Indian Army from General Sir FRR Bucher.
This day commemorates the courage, valour, and sacrifice of the soldiers of the Indian Army who have continuously served in challenging conditions.
The 77th Army Day Parade was marked by the presentation of 52 prestigious awards.
It was including 15 Sena Medals (Gallantry)- with 8 posthumous awards, and 37 Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Unit Appreciations.
