- The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Committee Against Smuggling and Counterfeiting Activities Destroying the Economy (CASCADE) jointly observe this day.
- It aims to raise awareness on menace of cross-border smuggling and its potential impact.
- In the past year, over 12,298kg of narcotics, 177kg gold, and 179kg silver from the eastern and western borders were confiscated.
- Additionally, the Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 3.27 million were also seized.
