- The Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of hitting targets at up to 300km (186 miles).
- They were first used in the Gulf War of 1991.
- It follows a ballistic path into the atmosphere and back down at a high speed and high angle, making them difficult to intercept.
