- The Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam 2024 was passed by the Lok Sabha on 09.08.2024 and by Rajya Sabha on 05.12.2024.
- As per the Central Government, the 1st day of January, 2025 the provisions of the said Act, shall come into force.
- This legislative reform aimed at modernizing India’s aviation sector by re-enacting the Aircraft Act, 1934, in alignment with the contemporary needs and the global standards.
- The Act provides for the regulation and control of the design, manufacture, maintenance, possession, use, operation, sale, export and import of aircraft and connected matters.
- The legislation also removed redundancies and replace the Aircraft Act, 1934, which has been amended 21 times.
