- The Department of Archaeology and the Heritage Division of the Public Works Department have joined hands to restore the Durbar Hall at the Thanjavur Palace.
- It is perhaps the largest structure with a lean-to-roof in the country.
- It aims to restore the glory of the hall which was renovated by Maratha King Shaji in 1684.
