- The Cyclone Fengal made landfall and it crossed the Tamil Nadu coast between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram.
- Due to this cyclone, Puducherry recorded its highest rainfall of 46 cm in the last 30 years.
- Earlier it had received 21 cm of rainfall on October 31, 2004.
- The name 'Fengal' was given by Saudi Arabia.
