- India has successfully tested its first long-range hypersonic missile, capable of carrying various payloads over 1,500 km.
- The missile is capable of travelling at speeds of Mach 6 (six times the speed of sound).
- This variant could position India closer to having its own equivalent of China's DF-21D nicknamed the "carrier killer".
