- Fathima Beevi became the first female judge of the Supreme Court of India in 1989.
- As of August 1, 2024, around 14 percent of sitting judges across High Courts in India were women, but only two High Courts had women Chief Justices.
- In August 2024, 106 out of 754 judges in high courts were women.
