- It is also known as International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
- This Day was chosen by the UNGA to mark the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp in 1945.
- 2025 marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War and the Holocaust.
- The theme of this year is “Holocaust Remembrance for Dignity and Human Rights”.
