  • A bone point, probably used as a tool for weaving, and a tiny broken piece of gold, have been unearthed by archaeologists at Porpanaikottai in Pudukottai district.
  • Significantly, the archaeologists found a gold stud in floral design at the site during the first season of excavation in 2023.
  • So far around 1,743 antiquities, including hopscotches, glass beads and bangles, soapstone beads, crystal beads, iron nails, terracotta wheel, antimony rod, copper coins, rubbing stone etc found in this site.
