  • In a remarkable first, the critically endangered Red-Headed Vulture has been sighted in Kasaragod.
  • This bird is also known as the “Asian King Vulture.”
  • It is distinguished by its striking red head and impressive wingspan of up to 2.5 m.
  • It is typically found in Central India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and parts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
