- ISRO has achieved a significant milestone with the successful demonstration of restarting its Vikas liquid engine.
- The Vikas engine, a very reliable workhorse for powering the liquid stages of Isro's launch vehicles, is being refined to enable stage recovery and reusability.
- In the very latest test, the engine was fired for 60 seconds before being shut off for 120 seconds.
- It was then successfully restarted and fired again for seven seconds.
