- The Archaeological Survey of India has unearthed a Sanskrit inscription discovered on a rock outside Gilgit in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
- It is written in Brahmi script; it reportedly belongs to approximately 4th-century CE.
- There were earlier instances wherein Sanskrit inscriptions were found in Pakistan.
