- Japan is set to gift two of its iconic Shinkansen trains to India for the trial and inspection purposes.
- The train sets from would be used to make trail runs in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor, which is currently under construction.
- The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, once constructed, will be India's first high-speed rail line, with a top speed of 320 km/h.
- The high-speed rail system is also known as bullet train.
