- Uttar Pradesh with 21.4% share continues to be the country’s biggest user of chemical pesticides.
- It is followed by Maharashtra (15.7%) and Punjab (9.5%).
- UP recorded the increase in its bio-pesticide use was even smaller at 3.4 MT (it went from 52.8 to 56.2 MT).
- Himachal Pradesh has reduced its chemical pesticide consumption by 193 MT (from 470 to 277 MT).
- It improved its bio-pesticide use marginally, by 0.23 MT (going from 0.37 to 0.60 MT).
- West Bengal (1,574 MT) was the last financial year’s biggest bio-pesticide user.
- It was followed by Tamil Nadu (957 MT) and Chhattisgarh (787 MT).
