- This Day was first celebrated in Brazil in 1999 as Brazilian Voice Day.
- It was initiated by the ENT specialists, speech-language pathologists, and voice professionals to raise awareness about voice care.
- By 2002, the professionals from Europe and the U.S. joined this day, and it was officially declared World Voice Day.
- The theme for 2025 is “Empower Your Voice”.
