- In North Sea, the green energy project of Belgium is taking shape.
- They are constructing massive concrete structures and moved into sea, which will form the foundation of this world-first initiative.
- It is named after Belgium’s Princess Elisabeth, the “energy island”.
- This energy island was launched in 2021.
- The artificial island will locate 45 kilometres (28 miles) off the coast.
- It aims to support a huge expansion in wind energy production.
- Belgium plans to install 3.5 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity in coming years.
