2 March 3 World Wildlife Day Purpose: To raise awareness of the World’s flora and fauna. Observed by: All UN members
3 March 4  National Security Day Purpose: To praise the work of security forces, who plays a major role in maintaining peace and security of the people in India. Observed by: India
4 March 8 International women’s day Purpose: To celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Observed by: UN
5 March 14 World Pi (π) Day Purpose: To celebrate the Mathematical constant of Pi.
6 March 15 World Consumer Rights Day Purpose: To promote the basic rights of all the consumers, to demand that those rights are respected and protected. Observed by: Consumer International
7 March 20 World Sparrow Day Purpose: To create awareness of the house sparrows and other birds to the rapidly changing environments, and of threats to their populations. Observed by:  “Nature Forever Society” in collaboration with the Eco-Sys Action Foundation (France) and numerous other national and international organisations across the world.   International Day of Happiness Purpose: To recognise happiness as a “fundamental human goal” and call for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth Observed by: UN
8 March 21 International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination Purpose: Aims to remind people of racial discrimination’s negative consequences.  It also encourages people to remember their obligation and determination to combat racial discrimination. Observed by: UN   World Down syndrome Day (WDSD) Purpose: To raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. Observed by: WHO   International Day of Forests Purpose: To raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests and of trees outside forests Observed by: UN Members   World Poetry day Purpose: To promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world Observed by: UNESCO
9 March 22 World Water Day Purpose:    To highlight the importance of freshwater. It is also used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Observed by: People and organizations worldwide, including all UN member states
10 March 23 World Meteorological Day Purpose: To commemorate the creation day of World Meteorological Organization. Observed by: All UN members
11 March 24 World Tuberculosis Day Purpose:  To build public awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis and efforts to eliminate the disease. Observed by: WHO
12 March 27 World Theatre Day Purpose:  To promote theatre in all its forms across the world and to make people aware of the value of theatre in all its forms. Observed by: International Theatre Institute and international theatre community

1 March 14, 2018 No Smoking Day Purpose: To encourage People across the world to quit the habit of Smoking. Observed by:  UK Note: Observed on Second Wednesday of March
2 March 16,2018 World Sleep Day Purpose: To celebrate the benefits of good and healthy sleep and to draw society attention to the burden of sleep problems and their medicine, education and social aspects. Observed by: World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society. Note: Observed on March (the Friday before the northern hemisphere vernal equinox)
3 March 8,2018 World Kidney Day Purpose: To create awareness among the people globally, about the importance of the kidneys and also to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health issues. Observed by: WHO Note: Note: 2nd Thursday in March.
4 March 24,2018   Earth Hour (Since 2007) Purpose: To create awareness for global warming, held annually by encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour (From 8. 30 p.m. to 9.30PM) Observed by: WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature) Note: Observed on Specific day towards the end of March
