27. SIRPI Project

Aim:
- To guide school students towards good behaviour, prevent juvenile delinquency, and avoid bad habits such as drug use.
Beneficiary:
- 8th-grade students from 100 government schools in the Chennai Corporation area.
Eligibility:
- 8th-grade students selected from 100 government schools in Chennai, totalling 2,764 boys and 2,236 girls.
Additional Information:
- Each selected student receives a new uniform and various training programs.
- Students will meet with two coordinators every Wednesday, and classes will be conducted by police officers and subject experts.
- A book will be provided, and nutritious meals will be given during the classes.
- Students will be taken on tours to eight designated places.
- The initiative aims to in still good habits such as drug eradication, anti-alcohol measures, legal awareness, networking with government and non-government organizations, self-leadership enhancement, respecting parental advice, public interaction, adhering to traffic rules, and taking pride in the state's prosperity and development.
- The program aims to mold children into individuals with good public manners and social responsibility from a young age, preventing juvenile delinquency by addressing factors like lack of parental attention, insufficient income, growing up without support, and unemployment.
- The project is implemented without any human rights violations and aims to respect the dignity of the students.
- The initiative is implemented at a cost of Rs. 4.25 crores.
- The program aims to bring about a change in all schools in Tamil Nadu, making students contribute to the country and respect the law, thereby becoming role models for others.

28.Naan Mudhalvan

Eligibility:
- Students from government and government-aided schools, colleges, and universities in Tamil Nadu.
Additional Information:
- The "Naan Mudhalvan" initiative, launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on his 69th birthday, is his dream project.
- The program aims to develop the skills of 10 lakh youth annually, enhancing their academic, intellectual, and physical abilities.
- It focuses on identifying and encouraging individual talents of students in government and government-aided educational institutions.
Key features of the Naan Mudhalvan initiative include:
- Skill development and guidance for students to succeed in both academics and life.
- Identifying and encouraging individual talents of students in government and government-aided schools, colleges, and universities.
- Providing guidance on what to study next, where to study, and how to study.
- Offering specialized training in Tamil and English proficiency, including writing, speaking fluently, and interview preparation.

- Providing advice on a healthy diet, physical exercise, walking, dressing, manners, and social interactions with mental health and physical health experts.

- Offering direct, online, in-college, and district-level training based on the needs of the students, conducted by top trainers.
- Establishing guidance and counselling centers in every school, with a dedicated curriculum and syllabus for continuous classes for students from grades 9 to 12.
- Introducing continuous mentoring programs in government schools with former students as mentors.
- Teaching foreign languages to college students to ensure employment opportunities abroad.
- Upgrading government vocational training centers to Industry 4.0 standards.
- Ensuring admission to top institutions, renowned universities, and skill development organizations based on students' qualifications and interests through continuous training.
- Publishing job announcements and coordinating training for employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu government departments, central government jobs, and other states' job opportunities.
- Monitoring and supporting trained beneficiaries to secure and continue employment. Additionally, conducting integrated job fairs based on needs.
- Developing a comprehensive portal containing all details of the initiative.
- Coordinating the new initiative under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister through the Special Project Implementation Department.
- Implementing the initiative through a district-level committee led by the District Collector in all 20 districts.
- The Tamil Nadu government has announced training classes under the "Naan Mudhalvan" scheme to prepare students for competitive exams, including those conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), and Railways.
- In the 2024-2025 Tamil Nadu budget, it was announced that quality six-month training with food and accommodation would be provided to 1,000 selected students to ensure their success in central government and bank job exams.
- Training will be conducted free of charge for SSC-cum-Railways and bank jobs through the Naan Mudhalvan competitive exams division under the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution and be between 21 and 29 years old.
- Applicants born before 02.08.1995 are not eligible.
- Age relaxation will be provided as per government rules.
Selection Process
- 1,000 beneficiaries will be selected for training based on the marks obtained in two separate entrance exams.
- Examination centers will be set up in all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.
Entrance Exam Syllabus:
- Questions will be from General Knowledge, Aptitude, English, and Mathematics sections.
- For bank job training, questions related to banking will replace the General Knowledge section.
- Students wishing to benefit from this scheme can choose either bank exam training or SSC-Railway exam training, but not both.
- Selected trainees must pay a fee of Rs. 3,000, which will be refunded upon completion of the training.
- Accommodation will be provided for the trainees.
29.Thagaisal Schools Scheme

Additional Information:
- The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has launched new initiatives to transform government schools to be on par with private schools.
- The scheme was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at an event in Chennai.
- The initiative includes the establishment of model schools and Thagaisal (exemplary) schools.
- Thagaisal schools will provide a holistic education with adequate teachers, modern computers, advanced science laboratories, integrated libraries, and extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, and literature, based on the number of students.
- This initiative aims to create an environment where government school students can learn with various skills.
- Learning will not only be through direct classroom instruction but also through online methods, enhancing learning skills to meet modern standards.
- The School Education Department has accelerated the preliminary work to upgrade the necessary infrastructure in selected government schools for the Thagaisal schools.
- These schools will be equipped with smart classrooms with advanced technology, modern laboratories, and other facilities.
- Special training will be provided to the teachers who will conduct classes in Thagaisal schools, ensuring integrated development among students.
- The Thagaisal schools are expected to benefit 62,460 students from government schools.
- The government's pioneering initiative through Thagaisal schools aims to provide a learning environment with modern technological facilities equivalent to private schools, which will be a boon for underprivileged students.
30.Valar 4.0

- To provide necessary support to entrepreneurs and industries, enhance the capabilities of MSMEs, increase productivity, utilize state-of-the-art technology, facilitate idea exchange, address issues and challenges, and contribute to achieving the target of a USD 1 trillion economy.
Beneficiary:
- Entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility:
- Entrepreneurs and industries operating within Tamil Nadu.
Additional Information:
- The Tamil Nadu government has launched the 'Valar 4.0' portal to support entrepreneurs and industries.
- It was developed by the Department of Information Technology and Digital Services in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, and with assistance from IIT-Madras, the portal addresses the needs of entrepreneurs.
- The portal was formally launched by MSME Minister T.M. Anbarasan and Information Technology Minister Mano Thankaraj.
- Additionally, the Tamil Nadu government has renamed the Information Technology department in the Secretariat to the 'Information Technology and Digital Services Department' to strengthen the growth of emerging technologies and digital services.
- The Secretary of the IT Department of Tamil Nadu is Neeraj Mittal.
