43. Chief Minister's Innovation Fellowship Program

Launch Date:

• September 29, 2022.

Ministry or Nodal Agency: 

• Special Program Implementation Department, in collaboration with the Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli.

Aim:

• To enhance the efficiency of administrative processes and improve the delivery of various schemes and policies in Tamil Nadu by utilizing the talents and skills of young professionals.

Beneficiary:

• 30 young professionals selected annually for the fellowship.

Eligibility:

• Must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
• Age between 22-30 years at the time of application.
• Proficiency in Tamil is mandatory.
• One year of work experience.
• First-class undergraduate degree in professional courses (Engineering, Medicine, Law, Agriculture, Veterinary Science). First-class postgraduate degree in Arts or Science.

Additional Information:

• Job tenure is two years.
• Monthly salary is Rs. 65,000 with an additional monthly allowance of Rs. 10,000 for travel, mobile phone, and data usage.
• Training includes 30 days of classroom instruction at the Anna Administrative Staff College in Chennai, coordinated by senior government officials and domain experts.

44. Dolphin Project

Launch Date:

• 06.11.2023.

Ministry or Nodal Agency:

• Tamil Nadu Government under the supervision of the Central Government's Forest Department

Aim:

• The Dolphin Project aims to protect dolphins in coastal habitats of Tamil Nadu.
• There are over 9 species of dolphins found in the marine ecosystems of Tamil Nadu, particularly in the Mannar Marine Protected Area.
• Dolphins play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance in marine environments.

Beneficiary:

• Dolphins and other marine life in coastal areas. The project also benefits local communities and researchers studying marine biodiversity.

Additional Information:

• The Dolphin Project focuses on enhancing the overall health of marine ecosystems.
• Activities such as conservation efforts, monitoring marine pollution, promoting sustainable fishing practices, climate change adaptation, noise pollution mitigation, and habitat restoration will contribute to the welfare and survival of dolphins.
• Collaboration with fishermen and other stakeholders, using modern technology and industrial groups, will improve.
• The thematic areas are enhancing water resources, housing for all, improving the quality of education, enhancing health guidance, social inclusion, infrastructure, and industrial development, creating linkages for agricultural production, productivity, and marketing, skill development and entrepreneurship enhancement, corporate lending, heritage and culture, environmental balance, and data governance.

45. Kutti Kavalar Scheme

Launch Date:

• October 12, 2022.

Ministry or Nodal Agency: 

• Tamil Nadu Government.

Aim:

• To teach young school children about road safety through a well-designed curriculum and transform them into road safety ambassadors.

Beneficiary: 

• Young school children.

Eligibility:

• Young school children are eligible to participate in this program.

Additional Information:

• The road safety pledge for the children is as follows: "From today onwards, I take on the responsibility of being a Kutti Kavalar.
• I pledge to carefully follow road rules during my travels and to encourage my family and friends to do the same.
• I understand that I should not board or alight from a moving bus.
• I will emphasize the importance of wearing a helmet while riding two-wheelers and fastening seat belts while traveling in four-wheelers.
• I fully comprehend this road safety pledge and commit to following it wholeheartedly."
• To raise awareness about road safety, a large number of students participated in this pledge-taking event, which has been recognized by the Asia Book of Records.
• The certificate was presented to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
• India has the highest number of road accidents and fatalities in the world, with Tamil Nadu being among the top three states in the country for road accidents.
• In Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore has the highest number of road accidents after Chennai.

46. Singara Chennai 2.0 Scheme

Launch Date: 

• August 24, 2021.

Ministry or Nodal Agency: 

• Tamil Nadu Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.

Aim:

• To enhance the cleanliness, greenery, water management, heritage conservation, infrastructure, and overall well-being of Chennai city through a series of targeted projects.

Beneficiary:

• Residents and visitors of Chennai city.

Additional Information:

• A committee under the leadership of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department of the Tamil Nadu Government has been formed to approve and monitor the Singara Chennai 2.0 Scheme projects.
• The committee includes the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, the Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, and the Managing Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board as members.
• The Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation is appointed as the coordinator.
• As part of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Singara Chennai 2.0 Scheme, 11 new parks, 2 playgrounds, 10 seaweed parks, 2 cemeteries, 16 school buildings, and the historic Victoria Public Hall will be renovated and revitalized in the Chennai Corporation area.
• Clean Chennai: Removal of garbage and waste through biological methods, land reclamation, strengthening micro-composting centers, modern removal of building and demolition waste, clearing excessive garbage in slum areas, modernizing slaughterhouses and commercial complexes.
• Green Chennai: Large-scale tree planting throughout the city.
• Water-Rich Chennai: Improvement of drinking water supply, restoration of water bodies and water channels, transforming them into eco-friendly spaces for public use.
• Beautiful Chennai: Renovation of heritage buildings with decorative lighting, beautification of areas under bridges, road junctions, and road medians.
• Infrastructure Improvement: Continuous enhancement of urban infrastructure facilities such as new roads, bridges, streetlights, and stormwater drains.
• Development of pedestrian-friendly sidewalks suitable for differently abled individuals.
• Healthy Chennai: Establishment of public toilets, maintenance and upgrading of quality public toilets throughout the city, improving health facilities for pregnant mothers and children, creating sports and exercise facilities, promoting non-motorized transport, and installing underground sewers in expanded areas to connect every household with the sewage system.
• Educational Improvement: Enhancing the infrastructure facilities of Chennai schools, setting up learning centers for school-going children without adequate study space at home, and establishing modern libraries.

47. Ayothidasar Pandithar Housing Development Scheme

Launch Date:

• 02-09-2023.

Ministry or Nodal Agency:

• Tamil Nadu government.

Aim:

• To improve Adi Dravidar settlements.
• To increase the overall higher education enrolment of Adi Dravidar and tribal students.
• To provide safe and quality accommodation facilities to Adi Dravidar and tribal students.

Beneficiary:

• Adi Dravidar and tribal communities.
• Adi Dravidar and tribal students.

Eligibility:

• Adi Dravidar and tribal communities residing in the designated settlements.

Additional Information:

• Adi Dravidar and tribal students requiring accommodation for higher education.
• The scheme will be implemented over five years with a budget of 1000 crore rupees.
• Four new hostels with modern amenities will be built in Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, and Nilgiris.

48.Annal Ambedkar Business Champions Scheme

Launch date:

• May 30, 2023.

Ministry or Nodal Agency:

• Tamil Nadu Government, under the Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

Aim:

• Promote economic development among Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
• Facilitate financial assistance and business development support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
• Encourage participation in various sectors of business and service.

Beneficiary:

• Individuals from Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Tamil Nadu.
• Aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to establish new ventures or expand existing ones.

Eligibility:

• Age between 18 and 55 years.
• No specific educational qualification required.
• Entities eligible include partnerships, private limited companies, LLPs, and other similar entities.

Additional Information:

• Financial assistance consists of a loan with 65% funding from banks and 35% equity provided by the government. Includes a 6% subsidy on the loan.
• Offers free entrepreneurship and scheme-specific training to beneficiaries.
• Loan can be utilized for various purposes such as agricultural equipment, cold storage, wedding halls, petrol pumps, gas agencies, and different types of vehicles.
• This scheme aims to empower marginalized communities through entrepreneurship, fostering economic growth and development in Tamil Nadu.

49. Startup Thamizha

Launch date:

• November 24, 2023.

Startup Thamizha:

• Startup Thamizha is the first Startup Reality show in Tamil Nadu's mainstream TV focusing on Startup and MSME investments and growth.

Program Goal:

• To inspire the masses of Tamil Nadu to take up entrepreneurship as a mass movement
• Change from Job seeking to Job creation mindset
• For promoting Startup investments as an asset class for investors & HNIs.
• To contribute to the TN Government's vision of transforming the state into a 1 trillion Economy and to actively promote the growth of startups and MSMEs.
• To highlight impact of investment & change in social, women, rural areas of focus.
