- The Victoria and Albert (V and A) Museum has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government.
- As per the MoU, India will be able to showcase the famous 17th-century 'Tiger Claws' for 3 years in a Mumbai Museum.
- The weapon is of great significance as it is believed to have once been wielded by Maratha leader, Chhatrapati Shivaji.
- These 'Tiger Claws,' are also known as wagh nakh.
- They are shrouded in folklore and are said to have played a pivotal role in a dramatic military encounter that unfolded.
- In 1659, Chhatrapati Shivaji, concealed these metal claws in his hand and is reputed to have used against Afzal Khan, the commander of Bijapur army.
