- Nation paid homage to great revolutionary, Shaheed Udham Singh, a well-known freedom fighter on his 120th birth anniversary being celebrated on 26 December 2019.
- He was born on this day in 1899 in Sangrur district of Punjab.
- He belonged to Ghadar party.
- He was present in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar on the fateful Baisakhi festival (festival of harvest) on 13 April 1919.
- General Dyer opened fire without any warning on unarmed crowd.
- Many people lost their lives in that horrific massacre.
- He was best known for avenging the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by assassinating Michael O’ Dwyer in March 1940 and was hanged by British in London.
