- The Ministry of External Affairs, in partnership with the Government of Fiji, organised the 12th World Hindi Conference in Fiji.
- The 11th World Hindi Conference was held in Mauritius in 2018.
- The first World Hindi Conference was inaugurated on 10 January 1975 by the then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi.
