- The Khelo India University Games 2023 concluded in IIT Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- Panjab University topped the medals tally with 26 gold, 17 silver and 26 bronze medals (total - 69 medals).
- Amritsar's Guru Nanak Dev University came in second in the overall championship race with 24 gold, 27 silver and 17 bronze (total 68 medals).
- Last edition's champion Jain University, Karnataka had to be content with the third position with 32 medals.
- Swimmer Siva Sridhar topped the men’s section with a total of 11 medals, including eight golds.
- Shrungi Bandekar won nine medals in the women’s section, including five golds.
- University of Madras got 9th rank in the list with 7 gold, 8 Silver and 8 Bronze medals.
- Other Tamil Nadu universities in the tally are: SRM University (37), Bharathiar University (42) and Madurai Kamaraj University (85).
