- Archaeological excavations in the vadakkupaddu Panchayat have found gold that was used in ancient times.
- The site for excavation was selected in the village of Oragadam next to Kanchipuram district.
- Black and red pottery, painted pottery and inscribed pottery, and Roman pottery were also found.
- It also found 2 gold ornaments weighing 1.5 grams.
- Flint earrings, gold ornaments, flint round chips, iron products and bracelet fragments have been found.
- These may be items used by people who lived 4000 years to 10000 years ago.
