- The 49th meeting of the GST Council was held at Delhi under the chairpersonship of the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
- Council has reduced the GST rate on rab or liquid jaggery from 18% to 5% if sold pre-packaged and labelled and nil if sold otherwise.
- Rates on pencil sharpeners has been cut to 12 percent from 18 percent earlier.
- Rates on tax trackers has been cut to 12 percent from 18 percent but that is subject to conditions.
- Services provided by courts will be charged at Reverse Change Mechanism (RCM).
