- The Centre Government has announced that it would open 500 generic medicines sales centers in Tamil Nadu.
- Medicines for all diseases will be available at lower prices in this stores. In the past three years, 2240 generic medicine stores were opened in India.
- The Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) will be established at Madurai soon. This institute is similar to central institutions such as IIT and IIM.
