- PM Narendra Modi has been invited as the chief guest of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum (September 4 – 6) in Vladivostok by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
- It was established in 2015 by Russia and takes place each year in Vladivostok.
- This international forum is held for the purpose of encouraging foreign investment in the resource rich-Russian Far East.
