- India’s 72nd R-Day parade have no chief guest after more than five decades.
- Troops deployed in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participated along with India’s first woman fighter pilot.
- A tableau of newly formed UT of Ladakh was displayed.
- The newly acquired multirole Rafale fighters also fly over Rajpath.
- There was no participation of military veterans and no stunts by motorcycle daredevils.
- Even the route of the parade has been curtailed till the National Stadium.
- The size of marching contingents has been reduced from regular 144 to 96.
- The number of spectators cut down to 25,000.
- For the first time A 122 - member Bangladesh contingent participated in the parade.
