- The 8th National Voters’ Day (NVD) was observed across the country by the Election Commission of India.
- The objective of the Day is
- to increase enrollment of voters, especially of newly eligible ones
- to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process.
- National Voters’ Day was initiated in 2011 to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence on 25th January 1950.
