- Under NITI Aayog’s flagship scheme Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), Atal Community Innovation Centres have been launched.
- They aim to encourage the spirit of innovation at the community level.
- The program will focus on the 484 backward districts where the innovation infrastructure is very weak.
- Unserved regions of Tier 1/ 2 / 3 cities, North-East, Jammu and Kashmir as well as the rural and tribal regions of India will be targeted under the program.
