- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Rates for P&K Fertilizers for the year 2019-20.
- It was proposed by the Department of Fertilizers.
- Under NBS mechanism, annual subsidy will be fixed on the basis of per kilogram of the following nutrients
- Nitrogen (N)
- Phosphate (P)
- Potash (K)
- Sulphur (S)
- Other fertilisers with other micro nutrients like Boron and Zinc will also be eligible for a separate subsidy.
- This will enable the manufacturers and importers to formalize supply contracts for fertilizers and fertilizer inputs and make fertilizers available to the farmers in the year 2019-20.
