- Assam has organised a tribal festival called 'Aadi Mahotsava' at Gandhi Mandir Indoor stadium field in Guwahati to celebrate the ethnic tribal culture of the country.
- The 10-day festival is being conducted by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in an attempt to celebrate the rare art and culture of the tribal communities.
- It was established in August 1987 by the then Ministry of Welfare, Government of India, under the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act 1984 (which has now been replaced by the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002).
