- The Government of Karnataka has launched ‘Airavata Scheme’, a first-of-its-kind scheme that will create more self-employment opportunities.
- It will boost livelihood options for rural and semi-urban youth and the scheme is Targeted especially at the young men and women of SC/ST communities.
- In the first phase, the department has signed an agreement with Uber.
- Under this, the government will provide a financial grant of Rs 5 Lakhs each to identified beneficiaries from the SC/ST community.
- Uber will be assisting the state government in identifying eligible candidates from the SC/ST community.
