- The Union Government has added Andhra Pradesh capital “Amaravati” to its map, as the Survey of India released a new political map of India.
- Amaravati was missing from the new map, which was released by the Survey of India on November 2, 2019.
- The new map was issued after reorganisation of the new union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, which was officially done on October 31.
- Telangana has Hyderabad as its capital and it is the capital for Andhra Pradesh too for a period of 10 years from the date of bifurcation from 2014.
