- The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister inaugurated the “Amma mini clinic” in Chennai on 14th December.
- Chennai will have a total of 200 such clinics and Tamil Nadu will get 2,000 such clinics soon.
- The State has 1,851 primary health centres.
- The mini clinics will be opened in places where there are no primary health centres and where a large number of poor people live.
- Each Amma clinic will have a doctor, a nurse, and an assistant and will help in public consultation and basic investigation.
- The mini clinics will provide basic healthcare facilities like checking body temperature, blood oxygen, blood pressure, haemoglobin, blood sugar, urine samples.
