The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister inaugurated the “Amma mini clinic” in Chennai on 14th December.
Chennai will have a total of 200 such clinics and Tamil Nadu will get 2,000 such clinics soon.
The State has 1,851 primary health centres.
The mini clinics will be opened in places where there are no primary health centres and where a large number of poor people live.
Each Amma clinic will have a doctor, a nurse, and an assistant and will help in public consultation and basic investigation.
The mini clinics will provide basic healthcare facilities like checking body temperature, blood oxygen, blood pressure, haemoglobin, blood sugar, urine samples.
