- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy launched Amma Vodi Scheme in Chittoor.
- The scheme aims at benefitting school students (includes both public and private schools) studying in classes I to XII.
- Under the scheme, these students belonging to Below Poverty Line will get Rs 15,000 per annum.
- However, the guardian or mother of the child should ensure 75% attendance of the child.
- The State Government has allocated Rs 6318 crores under the scheme.
- The amount is to be directly transferred to the accounts of the mothers till the children complete their Class 12 education.
