- The AP Legislative Assembly has passed the Andhra Pradesh Disha Act, 2019 (Andhra Pradesh Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2019).
- It aims to reduce the judgment period to 21 days from existing judgement period of 4 months.
- It provides exclusive punishment of death penalty for rape crimes.
- It provides life imprisonment for sexual offences against children under the POCSO Act, 2012.
- It Introduces women and children offender’s registry to public – First state in India.
