- The Tripura High Court has ordered to ban animals sacrifice in religious places across the state.
- It has ordered that, no person including the state shall be allowed to sacrifice of any animal or bird within the precincts of any one of the temples within the state of Tripura.
- The Court observed that the animals also have fundamental right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
- The ruling was observed in a PIL filed by a retired Judicial Officer against animal sacrifice in the following famous temples of Tripura.
- Mata Tripureswari Devi Temple and Chatur Das Devata Temple.
