- Sikkim government has announced the legendary music composer A R Rahman as its tourism’s brand ambassador of state.
- Sikkim is known as First Organic State of India.
- The announcement for the new brand ambassador was made at the inauguration ceremony of Red Panda Winter Festival at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.
- His appointment as the brand ambassador would give a huge fillip to the tourism of the state – one of the prime contributors to the economy of the hill state.
- The winter carnival too is aimed at boosting tourism in the state.
