- The year 2022 also marks the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
- 2022 is the 10th anniversary of India’s Strategic Partnership with ASEAN.
- ASEAN was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand.
- It was the result of the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration).
- The motto of ASEAN is “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.
- The founding members are - Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
- Currently it has 10 member countries.
- ASEAN Plus Three includes - China, South Korea, and Japan.
- ASEAN Plus Six includes - ASEAN Plus Three as well as India, Australia, and New Zealand.
