- This was the first-time women and men boxing championship held together.
- This event was organized by International Boxing Association.
- India finished with 13 medals that include 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.
- Amit Panghal from Haryana won the gold in 52-kg category and this was her first gold medal in the event.
- Pooja Rani defeated world champion Wang Lina from China in the 81-kg category and won the gold medal.
- This was also India’s first ever gold medal in the 81-kg category from this elite Asian Boxing Championship tournament.
