Ban on e-cigaretes – Maharashtra and Rajasthan

  • Maharashtra and Rajasthan have decided to ban e-cigarettes to discourage nicotine addiction.
  • Electronic nicotine delivery systems may be as harmful as conventional tobacco products.
  • Apart from e-cigarettes, Maharashtra has also banned vapes and e-hookahs.
  • The ban was issued in Rajasthan on World No Tobacco Day which is celebrated on May 31 every year.
