- Banwarilal Purohit was sworn in as the 25th Governor of Tamil Nadu in an oath-taking ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Chennai.
- The Chief Justice of Madras High Court, Justice Indira Banerjee administered the oath of office to Purohit.
- Purohit, who was previously the Governor of Assam, will replace the current governor of Tamil Nadu, Vidyasagar Rao.
