BEL inks MoU with Swedish firm Saab

- State-owned defence electronics company Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed MoU with Saab for jointly marketing L-Band 3D air surveillance radar (RAWL-03).
- The air surveillance radar RAWL-03 is co-developed by the companies.
- RAWL-03 is long range air surveillance radar for early detection and tracking of air and surface targets.
- It can be fitted in both ship-borne and land-based configurations. Its system is based on state-of-the-art GaN TR module technology
- BEL is state-owned leading defence electronics company. It is one of nine PSUs under the Union Ministry of Defence of India.
- It has been accorded Navratna status. It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
