- Election Commission of India has selected 17 officers and organizations for the "Best Electoral Practices Awards -2020"
- It was on the occasion of National Voters Day on January 25.
- Deceased IPS officer and Inspector General of Police of Purnea, Binod Kumar was also conferred this award.
- He had contracted Covid-19 infection during the review of election-related preparations in Purnea district.
- This led to his untimely demise.
- The e-EPIC (digital version of the electoral photo identity cards) was launched at the event.
- Radio Mirchi was conferred the national media award for the voter education and awareness.
