BJP exceeds 100 seats in Rajya Sabha

- After winning one seat in each of Assam, Tripura, and Nagaland the BJP became the first party since 1990 to reach the 100-seat mark in the Rajya Sabha.
- In the recently held biennial polls for 13 Rajya Sabha seats across six states, the BJP lost its solitary seat from Punjab.
- But it gained one each from the three northeastern states and Himachal Pradesh.
